Hasty Generalization
A broad rule drawn from too few, or too biased, cases.
One or two vivid examples get promoted into a general law — “I met one, so they’re all like that.” The sample is too small, or not representative, to carry the weight. Before you generalize (or accept someone else’s generalization), ask how many cases, chosen how, and whether the loud examples are just the memorable ones. Base rates beat anecdotes.
